Al Meroz Hotel Bangkok (Bangkok, Thailand)

Al Meroz Hotel, the ‘leading halal hotel’ of Bangkok was the main reason why I decided to go to Bangkok. Their marketing slogan was interesting enough to make me fly to Bangkok and stay at the hotel. To be honest, before I arrived, I had low expectations of the hotel, but their clean, well-lit and posh rooms blew me away. I also didn’t expect the hotel to have top-notch facilities too. And don’t get me started on how amazing the food in one of its restaurants was. The buffet lunch was one of the best I have had for a long time.

The Peaberry (Chiang Mai, Thailand)

I couldn’t book 2 nights stay at Le Meridien Chiang Mai because my decision to go to Chiang Mai was made only hours before my flight departure. And it didn’t help that a lot of the other hotels which I was interested in were either fully booked or very expensive. Luckily, I found The Peaberry hotel on Tripadvisor and it was ranked top 10 in Chiang Mai. The price I paid for one night stay was only $50. Even though the room wasn’t “five star” but the service was top-notch.

Le Meridien Chiang Mai (Chiang Mai, Thailand)

I managed to get a room cheaply at Le Meridien Chiang Mai considering I booked it last minute. Due to some ‘mishap’, I was upgraded to the Executive Suite. The suite costs 4 times as much as the room I booked. Even though it was a pleasant surprise, I felt the room was too big for just one person. I wished I could share the joy and space with my wife and kids.
