Conclusion: Reflections on trip to Bangkok
Dinner @ Yana Restaurant Foodpanda (Bangkok, Thailand)
Having had two bananas was not enough for me. Luckily I found out that Foodpanda operates in Bangkok. Without much hesitation, I ordered a lot of food from Yana restaurant and had it delivered to my hotel. Honestly, the cost of the food wasn’t that exorbitant.
Just imagine how disappointing it was after 1+ hour of walking searching for food while hungry, the restaurant I was searching for was closed? It was heart wrenching to say the least.
Crestfallen, I walked back to the hotel to have a banana instead.
Hapless, I only could lie down in exhaustion on a reclining chair with two bananas, simultaneously enjoying the views of the Chao Praya River.
Fruits! I wish I am a fruitarian so I don’t have to worry about stuffing myself constantly with fried chicken.
Due to the lack of food, I couldn’t focus on what I was eating.
Ah, I could focus on the banana now.
Diz iz da life.
In my hunger, I had a flashback. FOODPANDA!
I quickly downloaded foodpanda and searched for any halal food options. The thing about foodpanda is that you have register an account using a local number before you can use the app. Luckily for me, I bought a local SIM card and therefore I had a local number.
If you are using your personal mobile number (i.e. International Roaming), you will not be able to register an account on Foodpanda. However, you have UberEats as an alternative. UberEats doesn’t require you to have a local number.
Middle Eastern food in Thailand? Nope!
Indian food in Thailand? Nope!
Middle Eastern food (again???) in Thailand? Nope!
Chinese food in Thailand? Nope!
Thai food in Thailand? Yes!
And I ordered some Thai food. I think I went overboard.
Food delivered to my hotel. For the convenience Foodpanda offered, the price wasn’t that high.
I didn’t have to go to where to food was. The food came to me. How convenient!
It didn’t take long for the food to arrive. I had to collect it from the concierge though.
I think the food looks more appetizing with a more picturesque background.
The best tom yam I ever tasted…for that day. Amin!
